How many rounds will a pistol last?

Generally speaking it’s best to replace springs after 5–6000 rounds if possible. Most barrels will last 30–50,000 rounds or more before accuracy begins to suffer. A steel frame will last virtually indefinitely.

How many rounds does a 9mm barrel last?

A 9/m/m barrel of modern steel should last maybe 20 to 30 thousand rounds before any wear of consequence. A . 357 magnum would wear faster due to larger powder charges. Under normal conditions you will wear out springs and other small parts before your barrel reaches the end of its service life.

Generally, yes. If factory centerfire cartridges are stored in a dry, cool place with low humidity, preferably in an airtight container, they can have an amazingly long shelf life. Many ballistics experts who have shot tens of thousands of rounds over the years report shooting 20- to 50-year-old ammo with no problems.
