How many hours do pro chess players practice?

Lajos Portisch from Hungary has been known to practice 8 hours per day throughout his career. However, it is very individual but those that have long careers at the very top spend many hours every day to sharpen their skills, improve their understanding of certain positions, analyze their games and prepare openings.
