Which quadratic equation has no solution?

Posted on August 28, 2022 by Author

Which quadratic equation has no solution?

A quadratic equation has no solution when the discriminant is negative. From an algebra standpoint, this means b2 < 4ac. Visually, this means the graph of the quadratic (a parabola) will never touch the x axis.

Can every quadratic equation be solved?

No. Every quadratic equation has two solutions and can be factorized, but as level of difficulty rises, splitting may not be easy and one may tend to use quadratic formula.

Are all quadratics Factorable?

Yes, only certain quadratic equations are factorable. All the rest that can’t be factored? You’ll have to resort to another method to solve those. – if there’s a factor pair that you can add or subtract together to equal the b coefficient, then the equation is factorable.

Can any quadratic equation be solved using the quadratic formula?

In algebra, all quadratic problems can be solved by using the quadratic formula.

Can a quadratic equation have infinite solutions?

Infinite Solutions Two quadratic equations that overlap but have different equations have two solutions. If the graphs of the equations are the same, then there are an infinite number of solutions that are true for both equations.

Does not have real roots?

If the discriminant of a quadratic function is less than zero, that function has no real roots, and the parabola it represents does not intersect the x-axis. An example of a quadratic function with no real roots is given by, f(x) = x2 − 3x + 4.

What is a problem with no solution called?

First a system of equations is called Inconsistent if there is no solution because the lines are parallel. A system of equation is called dependent when you have the same line written in two different forms so there are infinite solutions.

Can all cubics be Factorised?

There are no unfactorable cubic polynomials over the real numbers because every cubic must have a real root. Cubics such as x^3 + x + 1 that have an irrational real root cannot be factored into polynomials with integer or rational coefficients.
