At TopCoder, there are two divisions of competition. The specific division that you are in is dependant only on your TopCoder rating. If your TopCoder rating is 1200 or above, you will be competing in Division One. Otherwise, you will be competing in Division Two – even if you are non-rated.

What is the difference between div1 and Div2 in Topcoder?

In Topcoder SRM, there are around 6 problems of varying difficulties from both Div1 and Div2 together. Div 2 250 being the easiest, Div 1 1000 being the hardest.. Div 2 is targeted towards users whose rating is below 1200, whereas users whose rating is above 1200 compete in Div1.

What was Topcoder called before 2013?

The name was formerly spelt as “TopCoder” until 2013. Topcoder ran regular competitive programming challenges, known as Single Round Matches or “SRMs,” where each SRM was a timed 1.5-hour algorithm competition and contestants would compete against each other to solve the same set of problems.
