Howland Reed is the Lord of Greywater Watch and the father of Meera and Jojen Reed. The head of House Reed, he is a loyal vassal of House Stark, ruling over the bog-filled lands of the Neck and the crannogmen.

What killed Jojen?

Jojen successfully led Bran (and Hodor) to the Three-Eyed Raven, but was ambushed by wight on their way to the entrance. One of the wights stabbed Jojen repeatedly and then Meera cut his throat as an act of mercy.

Who is Howland Reed in Game of Thrones?

Howland is the head of House Reed and the Lord of Greywater Watch in the Neck. Currently he remains in his castle. Before his appearance in the Season 6 flashback he is mentioned only once, in Season 3: While traveling in the Gift, Bran and Jojen talk about Howland Reed and his relation to Ned Stark.

What happened to Howland Reed?

One point of note mentioned in the books is the fact that Howland Reed was with Ned when he finally rescued Lyanna Stark. Howland was one of only two survivors of that mission; the other was Ned himself. With the death of Ned Stark, Reed is the only survivor of that battle left.
