How long can petrol sit in a bike?

Generally speaking, petrol has a shelf-life of six months if stored in a sealed container at 20 degrees – or just three months if kept at 30 degrees. The more it’s exposed to heat, the more quickly it will go off.

How do I start my bike after 1 year?

First start: Modern bikes need minimal or no throttle to rise from a cold start. But be patient when you start it after a long time, the engine may need to crank over a few times before it fires up. Once running, let it warm up for a few minutes and keep an eye out for any leaks.
