Posted on August 15, 2022 by Author

Does Google sell your personal information?

“Google will never sell any personal information to third parties; and you get to decide how your information is used.” – Sundar Pichai Sound familiar?

How do you claim that Google does not sell data?

One way is to claim they do not “sell” data, as that term is used in CCPA. Google, the adtech oligarch, devourer of data, surveyor of souls, That Which Knows All That Is Known, has decided that it doesn’t sell data. Thanks for clearing that up.

Does Google sell your data to advertisers?

According to their privacy policy, they do not sell information to advertisers. With how super-targeted some of their ads are, it can be hard to believe that they do not share the least bit of user data. From your data, Google is able to create a complete profile. The reason why the company can collect so much information is that it has several ways to track users. Chrome stores websites you have visited through browser history. Google Maps can trace where users have been. The company can see the videos you watch on YouTube.

There’s still serious risk despite the fact that Google does not specifically sell personal information. The first problem is that often such data can be partially or fully de-anonymized using various statistical analysis techniques.

Does Google sell my data?

Google directly doesn’t sell your data to some 3rd party. But it uses your data for its own purpose of creating targeted ads to you which in turn is nothing but indirectly selling your data to companies who pay Google to advertise their products/services.

What info does Google Keep?

Google keeps a record of your search history. If you thought that deleting your browsing history on Chrome or Firefox was enough to remove all traces of your web activity, then you might be surprised (or not) to know that Google still keeps a detailed list of all your online movements related to Google’s services such as Maps, Chrome, and YouTube.
