[SPOILER] in case it’s still relevant for anyone (although I think during season 4 it became very clear): Elliot jumped out of the window because he was afraid of his dad who entered the room. His dad used to sexually abuse him. That’s also why Elliot says that he won’t forgive his father when they’re at the cinema.
