Is Wuthering Heights worth reading?
Is Wuthering Heights worth reading? Yes, the book is a great read! Wuthering Heights is one of the most powerful emotional books you will read.
Is Villette a love story?
It’s her most autobiographical novel. Like Jane Eyre (a book which I have read approximately once every one or two years for the last 34 years), Villette tells the story of an unassuming teacher who falls in love with an older, grumpy man.
Is Wuthering Heights hard to read?
Wuthering Heights is a more difficult book to understand than Jane Eyre, because Emily was a greater poet than Charlotte. When Charlotte wrote she said with eloquence and splendour and passion “I love”, “I hate”, “I suffer”. Her experience, though more intense, is on a level with our own.

Was Wuthering Heights a best seller?
Teenage fans of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series have sent Wuthering Heights – the favourite novel of the books’ hero and heroine – soaring to the top of the classics bestseller charts.
Which is easier to read Jane Eyre or Wuthering Heights?
Jane Eyre is “easier” to read, but I agree with Jess – the characters of Wuthering Heights are so much more interesting (even if I despise Heathcliff and Catherine). Write a comment… Read both books in the last few years, as an adult.
Is Wuthering Heights worth a read?
Wuthering Heights was published after Jane Eyre’s success, and I think it would be a mistake to hold the same to the same standard. Wuthering Heights is Emily Brontes only published novel. I think Wuthering Heights is a must read for anyone interested in British Literature and those who are interested in Women Writers.
What is your review of Jane Eyre?
Jane Eyre is a perhaps a bit more of a feel good read, if you could call it that. Jane gains strength and goes from powerless to powerful, in a series of twists and turns. The character development is strong and to my mind, convincing.
How do you feel about Catherine and Heathcliff?
Loathed WH – both Catherine & Heathcliff were self-indulgent drama queens and despite all the raves here, not very interesting people, IMO. The most sympathetic character was Catherine’s husband, what’s-his-face (yes, he was that memorable).
