Thousands of people live there with no issues about safety. I know the town well and there are lovely bits where I’d be happy to rent and others less so. The shopping is excellent, with a big shopping centre and an outlet mall, and there are very good sports facilities and a good cycle network.

The place to avoid near the hospital is definitely Craigshill and possibly bits of Deans. Also avoid Knightsridge, Ladywell and parts of Dedridge and Howden. We’re in Murieston which is very nice (relatively speaking), as are Eliburn and Kirkton.
